EPS

Also known as: Employees Pension Scheme

A pension scheme where part of your employer's PF contribution funds a monthly pension after retirement.

EPS is funded by diverting a slice of your employer's EPF contribution toward a pension.

After retirement, and with enough years of service, it pays a modest monthly pension for life.

The pension amounts are usually small, so treat EPS as a bonus, not your main retirement plan.

For example

After a full career, EPS might pay a few thousand rupees a month for life, useful but far from enough to retire on alone.
