A joint account feels like trust. It can also mean anyone can withdraw, and disputes get messy. For most freshers, a personal account plus scheduled UPI beats co-ownership.

  • Use joint only if you fully accept shared control.
  • Prefer mandate / standing instruction for family support.
  • Keep your emergency fund in an account only you operate.
  • Never co-sign loans you cannot repay alone.
