Also known as: Leave Travel Allowance
A salary component that gives tax exemption on travel costs within India for you and family.
LTA lets you claim tax exemption on travel fares for domestic trips taken with your family.
It covers only the transport cost, not hotels or food, and you can claim it twice in a block of four years.
You need actual travel bills, and it is an old-regime benefit only.

Take a family flight within India, keep the tickets, and the fare can be claimed tax-free as LTA, twice in a four-year block.
